Pho Thai Son, Eastablished 1994

Thailai and Son Nguyen immigrated to the United States, fleeing Vietnam after the war in search of a better life. The two of them worked for Advance Micro Devices in Austin, TX until they decided to start their own business.

Both Thai and Son wanted to share their passion for Vietnamese food with the Austin community. They opened their first restaurant in 1994 and haven’t looked back since. They combined both their names together and created Pho Thai Son. They have shared their dishes in hopes of creating a home-like environment for guests to enjoy the many flavors, smells and textures of Vietnamese cuisine.

Over the years they have opened several locations in the Austin area and have been serving generations of Austinites and hope to continue to do so over the years.
